    Retired as a schoolteacher, Winnie H. was 78 and in a wheelchair when she became a victim of LeClair’s scheme. She and her husband, also 78 at the time, invested in Not Forgotten and were told they would earn 15 percent a year, and a whopping 50 percent after five years.

    The discussions abruptly ended when LeClair’s lawyer told them the matter was in litigation and could no longer be discussed. Winnie never received anything back on her investment.

    However, they demanded a return of the investment as the agents were not licensed and the investment was misrepresented to them. In September 2010, they had many conversations and emails with LeClair in which she promised their money would be returned “100 percent” along with a surrender charge. However, the discussions abruptly ended when LeClair’s lawyer told them the matter was in litigation and could no longer be discussed. She never received anything back on her investment.
